At the University of Auckland we are developing a project that will allow scholars to colaborate in producing vocabularies for their Hebrew language classes. (I will be posting details once we have our paper for Singapore ready...) In the meantime, can anyone who uses Macs help me. We are coding the Hebrew as Unicode, and setting the fonts in the style sheet as: SBL Hebrew', SPEzra, 'SIL EZRA', Times, TimesNR, serif Can MacOS 10 users install either the SBL font or the SIL one? If not what can we tell them to do to see the Hebrew?

Mac OS X, at least in Safari, will find an appropriate font with the code points being used. So it came up fine for me without having to install any fonts not already included in Mac OS X 10.4.

I concur... the hebrew came up fine for me without having to install any fonts.

Mac OS X 10.2.8; Firefox 1.0.4; both SIL Ezra and SBL Hebrew installed. No problems.

Are you going to be supporting particular transliteration fonts too?

Thanks, all three of you, I have passed on the hapy news. No we will not be using any transliteration, just Hebrew and English. Most evidence suggests that for beginners transliterating slows their learning rather than speeding it.
BTW does anyone know the score with MacOS 9 ?
