Thanks to the three of you who passed on the good news of MacOS X. Now, two follow-up questions:
- What's the score with MacOS 9 ?
- Why did Stephen's screenshot show a sans-serif font, even though he has two serif fonts specified high in the style installed?
Incidentally I have just spotted a mistake there, I'll get them to remove the "SPEzra" it's a legacy font that many people will have installed and it adds nothing! That's what comes of web people with no Hebrew reading the SBL font instruction page! ¶ 6:50 AM

Hmmm. MacOS 9 will be more dependent upon the web browser used I think. For most that would be some version of Internet Explorer (v.5 for Mac).
Now my recollection was the IE5 for the Mac handled CSS better than the Windows equivalent - different development teams = different bugs.
You may want to leave in the legacy font information for OS9. Also you might want to list the fonts that come with the Accordance/Gramcord package that is most commonly used on the Mac for biblical stuff. I know of several people running with that - under OS9, Classic (OS9 "emulator") or OSX.

Internet Explorer 5.x on Mac OS X just garbles the hebrew; I'd imagine that OS9 is probably no better.
But then, OS9 is over 5 years old now...
