SansBlogue: Posting audio to a blog

Phil (of Narrative and Ontology) asked below how I post the audio files to my 5 Minute Bible blog. The answer is that I fudge it. Blogger does not make audio easy and I didn't have time to learn Wordpress, or money to use a paying service (like Evoca) so I use a free Flash MP3 player (I forget which one I used, but the JW MP3 Player) looks fine. I also use podifier to create an RSS feed that is compatible with iTunes as well as the feed that Blogger makes for me.

If it wasn't for RSS feeds and blogging software, on an "ordinary" website, like my Children's stories I just use the MP3 with an M3U textfile to stream the MP3 directly!

I'm sure there are easier ways... so why not tell me, and Phil in the comments, you might make both our lives easier ;-)

there are free open source programs for podcasting. just record your speech, upload it to rss feeds. easypodcast is one:

From the look of it Easypodcast does much the same job as Podifier. Anyone know why one might be better than the other?

Audacity is a superb open sound editing program, great for removing noise and generating MP3s of different quality to get the best trade off of quality and download speed.

The Siekmann blog now jumps to his Blogspot blog, can anyone give the new link to what Anthony was intending?

You know what I'm going to say...Plug self-hosted wordpress (wordpress.org) plus podpress (podpress.mightyseek.com).

It's unbelievably worth the learning curve, but you do need to set aside some time for that. Not so great in marking season.
