TWELVE persons listed on the "disambiguation"page and NOT ONE of them identified as "Dr. Jim West"? In that case, I wouldn't have gone to either the Canadian or the Australian "former football player" -- I would have opted immediately for "a fictional character on the television series The Wild Wild West and the motion picture Wild Wild West." After all, "our" Jim West could not possibly be a flesh-and-blood Hooman Bean, could he?

Sounds plausible to me, Dr Jim West as a fictional character. I'm sure the average sceptically minded scholar would find little real solid evidence for his existence, much more likely he was just made up after the events... after all no real human could write as many blog posts in one day as he does,seven days a week (even God took Saturday off) clear evidence that the West corpus is the work of a community.
