Being in Flash it is all done with vectors, so you can swoop in very very close to the detail that's invisible on this screenshot, can include pictures and stuff as well as shapes and words... great for explaining ideas and their relationship in ways that let your students pan out to see the "big picture" and fit things in context.
But it is in private beta and I don't have a login :( If anyone knows how to get inside the magic castle please let me know - they say they will only let the filthy rich and venture capitalists inside, but surely they want potential users (especially those in the top 50 bibliobloggers) to try, demonstrate and generally rave about how wonderful their tool is? Don't they? Haven't they heard of Web 2.0???

I've got beta access. I simply wrote them and told them I was an educator interested in using it. Definitely not just for those with capital to invest, as I have none. ;-)
It took about two-three months, and then they sent me a login.

powerpoint has actually already been dead for years, killed by Keynote. part of Apple's iLife suite. I'm slowly converting all my fellow faculty members over. Much easier to use, and the presentations are stunning.

Well, the slides are only as boring as the user makes them IMO. And I guess it depends what you need to share. Prezi is certainly cool, but I'm not sure what I'd use it for. Keynote keeps my students focused, and reminds them of what my main points are. I also integrate video, pics, as well as sympodium use in my classes- so keynote is just one tool. Prezi is another one in the tool box for sure
